Joseph Ellington, Walgreens Store Manager in Tomball, Texas, has always dreamed of making a difference in the lives of others.
“Growing up as I did, we grew up in some really challenging conditions,” said Joseph. “But I would always say to myself, one day, I would do my best to make a difference.”
Joseph has worked for Walgreens for 15 years, and for eight of those years, Joseph has seen the difference Walgreens has made in the lives of children through their partnership with Red Nose Day. “This Walgreens family, they are my personal heroes, because they are the ones who help make Red Nose Day successful. Not just on one day, but every day.”
Over the last eight years, Walgreens, along with its supplier partners and generous customers, has raised more than $140 million for Red Nose Day. People can purchase a Red Nose in store exclusively at Walgreens or Duane Reade through May 31st, and all profits of each Red Nose sold are donated to the Red Nose Day Fund, which has contributed to programs that have positively impacted over 30 Million children in the U.S and internationally.
“I’ve had the opportunity to see first-hand what the efforts of Red Nose Day have done in the community,” says Ellington. “It reaffirms hope. And what that means to me is that somewhere, somehow, I made a difference.”

Red Nose Partners with Covenant House
This is the sixth consecutive year that Covenant House has been named a Charity Partner with Comic Relief US/Red Nose Day. With support from this incredible movement, Covenant House is able to do more street outreach, help more young survivors of human trafficking, and provide more desperately needed beds. These funds (over $13 million since our partnership began!) open doors of opportunity and empower more of our young people at Covenant House to pursue the great promise of their lives and share their gifts with the world. And just as important, by sharing the inspiring stories of our young people through awareness raising efforts across all media, our partners at Comic Relief/Red Nose Day have introduced millions of people around the world to our young people at Covenant House as they really are … strong, resilient, and striving every day for their rights and their futures.
In the wake of the tragic shooting in Texas, Red Nose Day will continue to combat hatred with love. To support Red Nose Day this year, tune in to the NBC at 8PM ET on Thursday, May 26, 2022.
