Saquon Barkley and James Bradberry lead a special team of players and coaches to “Tackle Youth Homelessness”
New York Giants players, Saquon Barkley and James Bradberry to lead a special team of players and coaches to “Tackle Youth Homelessness” for Covenant House New Jersey
Beginning September 8, a limited number of fans will be able to register for a virtual workout with New York Giants players and coaches, led by RB Barkley and CB Bradberry.
Covenant House New Jersey is partnering with the New York Giants for their “Inspire Change Initiative” for the 2020-2021 season. Despite not being able to be in the stands this fall, fans will have the unique opportunity to workout virtually with New York Giants players Saquon Barkley, James Bradberry and their teammates while helping youth overcome homelessness at Covenant House New Jersey.
“I have been involved with Covenant House New Jersey (CHNJ) for three years and have seen firsthand the difference this program makes in the lives of the amazing young people they serve,” said Barkley. “I hope our fans will join us for the workouts to support the resilient and courageous young people at Covenant House New Jersey.”
Earlier in the spring, Giants players and coaches began work on their Inspire Change initiative. Giants players and coaches split themselves into nine teams and each team has paired with an organization in a dedicated region within New York and New Jersey. After several conversations regarding the issues that most affect the residents of those areas, the teams selected initiatives and will work alongside their community partner on programs that will create sustained change.
“The New York Giants have been extraordinary partners to us,” said Covenant House New Jersey Executive Director Jim White. “For many years, they have committed to showing up for our young people, and we are filled with gratitude for their continued support and inspiration.”
The “Tackle Youth Homelessness” initiative will give fans the opportunity to sign up for a 45 minute virtual group training session with the New York Giants. There will be four virtual workouts beginning on Tuesday, September 22 and running through Tuesday, October 13. Space is limited to 275 people per session, and each session is $50, which will benefit Covenant House New Jersey’s Dove Learning Center, which provides support services for education, job training, financial literacy, career exploration, and mental health and wellness.
Event registration will open on September 8 at 12:00 PM ET, as Barkley and Bradberry announce their team lineup for the players and coaches who will be leading the virtual workouts.
