CHNY Partners Tour Our New Building
Last week, our partners at Morgan Stanley and Comic Relief got a first look of the new Covenant House New York.
Over a decade ago, our friends at Morgan Stanley made the decision to walk with our young people on their individual journeys. They saw the challenges our young people face, and the injustices that exist around them, and they said, “no more … what can we do to help?” The company’s financial support has been vital in helping us keep our doors open 24/7, especially during the pandemic, and helped us guarantee that we could open the doors of our new building next month. Additionally, dozens of individual employees have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars as participants in the Sleep Out, many of whom have also served in leadership roles on Covenant House committees and volunteer with our youth. It was such a pleasure to tour our new space with our friends from Comic Relief because it allowed us to share, firsthand, how their investment in our work lends itself to housing, healing, and pathways to independence. Since 2016, Comic Relief has provided over $13 million to empower young people at Covenant House. Their unwavering commitment to ending child poverty and their wildly successful Red Nose Day campaign has brought much-needed attention to the issues faced by young people experiencing homelessness in the United States and Latin America. We are so grateful to the leaders at Comic Relief who see our young people as they are, celebrate their resilience, and choose to invest in their path forward.
The new Covenant House New York will give our city’s most vulnerable youth all the services and resources they need to get onto a sustainable path to independence — all under one roof. Youth experiencing homelessness are so much more than their circumstances and they deserve a place where they can heal and get the resources they need to succeed. Thank you to all of our partners who have helped make the new Covenant House New York and reality.
