This year marks Covenant House’s 50th anniversary of providing unconditional love and absolute respect to hundreds of thousands of young people facing homelessness and survivors of human trafficking. To help our youth mark the occasion, Chick-fil-A Tri-State restaurants are providing meals for youth at Covenant House and amplifying their voices and our mission throughout 2022.
The Chick-fil-A Tri-State campaign, Mobile Means More, lives up to its name. While encouraging customers to take advantage of the Chick-fil-A mobile app for ordering their Chick-fil-A meals, franchises in the New York City tri-state area will donate a percentage of the proceeds from those orders to support programming at Covenant House New York and Covenant House New Jersey throughout our anniversary year.
At local tri-state-area Chick-fil-A’s, in-restaurant signs and social media will raise awareness of the partnership and Covenant House’s 50th anniversary. Covenant House is commemorating the anniversary with a campaign of our own, Rising to Tomorrow, to shine a light on the heroic journeys of young people overcoming homelessness and human trafficking across the 33 cities and six countries where we serve.
For half a century, Covenant House has provided programs, services, and relentless support to more than 1.5 million young people facing homelessness and survivors of trafficking. That’s half a century of being love in their world, especially in the most trying and challenging times of their lives and our collective experience.
Last year, Covenant House provided 690,000 nights of housing to young people experiencing homelessness at the same time that the COVID pandemic obliged our meal provision to increase by 75%. We know that the food insecurity unleashed by the COVID pandemic is not over and that it is so important to young people overcoming homelessness to know where their next meal is coming from.
Covenant House is grateful to Chick-fil-A Tri-State operators, teams, and their loyal customers for supporting our youth in New York and New Jersey as they rise to their new tomorrow.
