Covenant House board member, Ariana DeBose (@arianadebose), and her The Prom co-star Jo Ellen Pellman (@jellpell) created the The Unruly Hearts Initiative for anyone who is driven to get help or inspired to make a donation after watching The Prom on Netflix. The initiative connects young audiences with trusted organizations that advocate for the LGBTQ+ community through resources for housing insecurity solutions, mental health access, and mentorship and education access. Covenant House is a featured organization and donations in support of this initiative can be made here.

As a follow up to the release of The Prom, Netflix is hosting a Virtual Prom titled "Tonight Belongs to You" on Saturday, 12/19. Hosted by Jonathan Van Ness with musical performances by Janelle Monaé and Galantis, you are invited to join us in celebrating the inclusive prom that 2020 truly deserves. There will be music, dancing, special guests, and appearances by The Prom cast among many other surprises!

It has been a tough year for everyone, and in a year that has felt so dark, The Prom is a beacon of positivity and light needed now more than ever. It is a film that celebrates love, friendship, hope and inclusivity. 

The event will stream live on YouTube this Saturday, December 19th at 5pm PT/8pm ET. The event will live on the Netflix YouTube channel, should you wish to watch after the fact.
